In a quiet neighborhood in the Conway area of South Carolina, the peace was shattered on the evening of May 22, 2019, by the sound of gunshots. Inside a home on Greenleaf Drive, 57-year-old Charles Lawrence was found deceased, having suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Neighbors knew Lawrence, also called 'Chuck,' as a helpful man who often did yard work for his girlfriend. His death marked a sudden and violent end to a life familiar to many in the close-knit community.
