Allen Britt, a young piano player, met a tragic end on October 18, 1899, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was fatally shot by Frankie Baker, a well-known figure in the city's red-light district. The incident occurred at 212 Targee Street, a location now approximately where the Enterprise Center stands.
