Arthur M. Huddleston, a police officer with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, tragically lost his life on November 17, 1912, while responding to a distress call. Officer Huddleston and his partner, Officer William Kelly, were investigating a woman's screams in an alley at the rear of 2912 Washington Street in St. Louis, Missouri. Unbeknownst to them, a recent parolee had broken into the home and was threatening the woman with a knife.
