On the afternoon of Monday, August 8, 2022, violence struck the Walnut Park East neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, when police officers were summoned to a scene of gunfire. Responding to the call at approximately 5:30 p.m., authorities arrived at the 5700 block of Woodland Avenue where they discovered a 66-year-old male named Larry Freeman suffering from a critical gunshot wound.
