Gary R. Stroud, a 26-year-old police officer from Saint Charles, Missouri, tragically lost his life on October 24, 1977, while in the line of duty. Officer Stroud had been serving with the St. Charles Police Department for 18 months when he responded to a report of a man walking around with a shotgun.
