Andre Louis Hicks, known by his stage name Mac Dre, was a prominent figure in the Bay Area hip-hop scene and a pioneer of the hyphy movement. Born on July 5, 1970, in Oakland, California, Mac Dre's career was marked by both musical innovation and legal troubles. On November 1, 2004, at the age of 34, Mac Dre was tragically killed in Kansas City, Missouri, after a performance. His death remains one of the most mysterious and unsolved cases in hip-hop history.
