Four-year-old Madison Lynne Moshiri, a young girl who found joy in baking with her mother and dancing with her sister, became an innocent victim of a horrific act of domestic violence on Monday, December 3, 2007. The devastating event, which took place in her own home, was a murder-suicide perpetrated by her father.
That fateful day, Madison's mother, Katherine
Moshiri, had sought an order of protection against her estranged husband, Mir Shahin Moshiri. When she returned to the family home to take her children, he became enraged. The confrontation escalated, and he shot Katherine multiple times. Despite her serious injuries, she managed to escape and run for help.
While his wife was gone, the father turned his violence on the children. He fatally shot Madison in the head. Her teenage brother, 16-year-old Michael Jeffers, was also shot twice in the head and succumbed to his injuries the following day at a local medical center. The youngest child, two-year-old Meghan Moshiri, was shot in the head but miraculously survived. After shooting his children, Mir Shahin Moshiri then took his own life. When police arrived at the home, they discovered the horrific scene.
