In the autumn of 2021, the life of 21-year-old Brianna Roberts was brutally cut short in a horrific series of events that unfolded in a quiet corner of Bollinger County, Missouri. A resident of Cypress, Illinois, Roberts was reported missing on a Thursday in mid-October, sparking an investigation that would soon uncover a grim and gruesome crime near Glen Allen.
Investigators were led to a property where they interviewed Kaitlyn Morgan and Eric Nanney, who were believed to be the last
people to have seen Roberts alive. The search of the property revealed a horrifying scene: human remains, later identified as those of Brianna Roberts, were discovered. The investigation determined that she had been stabbed and shot multiple times before her body was dismembered. The shocking discovery led to the immediate arrests of Morgan and Nanney, along with Eric's father, Ricky Nanney.

Ricky Nanney, the father of Eric Nanney, pleaded guilty to tampering with physical evidence in connection with the case and was sentenced to four years in prison.
