Michael H.T. Lynch, aged 63, was tragically killed on February 7, 2008, during a city council meeting in Kirkwood, Missouri. Lynch, who had been a dedicated Kirkwood city councilman since 2000, was one of five victims in a shooting that shocked the community. The incident occurred when Charles "Cookie" Thornton, a disgruntled resident with a history of disputes with the city, opened fire during the meeting.
