J'Nylah Douglas, a 7-year-old girl from St. Louis, Missouri, tragically lost her life on June 7, 2011, after being struck by stray gunfire on May 22, 2011. The incident occurred while she was playing on a playground at the Clinton-Peabody housing complex, located just south of downtown St. Louis. The bullet that hit J'Nylah was part of a shooting that erupted in the area, and she was an unintended victim of the violence. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries two weeks later.
