In the winter of 2015, a domestic dispute in Springfield, Missouri, escalated into a tragic double homicide. On the evening of February 13th, 50-year-old Andrea Anderson was at her home with her adult sons, Ronald and Kevin Anderson. An argument erupted between Andrea and her boyfriend, Willie Clark.
The verbal altercation quickly turned violent when Clark produced a firearm. As Andrea's son Ronald attempted to intervene, Clark shot him.
In a desperate attempt to flee the escalating violence, Andrea ran for the door, but Clark tragically shot and killed her. He then proceeded to a back bedroom where he fatally shot her other son, Kevin. Before leaving the residence, Clark shot Ronald two more times.
Despite being shot three times, Ronald Anderson survived the horrific attack. His testimony would prove crucial in the subsequent investigation and trial. Willie Clark fled the scene and initially went to the home of another girlfriend in Springfield before traveling to a third girlfriend's house in Arkansas. The girlfriend in Springfield alerted the authorities and turned over the weapon Clark had left with her.
Following an investigation by the Springfield Police Department, Willie Clark was apprehended on February 17, 2015. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Andrea and Kevin Anderson, one count of first-degree assault for the attempted murder of Ronald Anderson, and three counts of armed criminal action. In August 2017, a Greene County jury found Willie Clark guilty on all charges. He was subsequently sentenced in November 2017 to life in prison without the possibility of parole for each of the murder convictions.
