On the early morning of March 26, 2015, a violent incident occurred in the quiet residential area of North St. Louis County, Missouri, involving 41-year-old male Abusalam Heggs. The events unfolded in the 12000 block of Sealane Drive, a neighborhood situated between Black Jack and Spanish Lake. Around 1:30 a.m., the silence of the community was shattered by the sound of gunfire, alerting those inside a nearby residence to the unfolding danger.
Upon investigating the noise, a family
member made a harrowing discovery in the front yard of the home. Heggs was found lying on the ground, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The witness reported hearing the shots followed immediately by the sound of a vehicle speeding away from the scene, suggesting the assailant or assailants fled rapidly after the attack. Emergency services were summoned, but Heggs succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
