Senior Airman John J. Bottom, aged 22, tragically died on May 9, 2015, in Warrensburg, Missouri. Bottom, who was assigned to the 509th Security Forces Squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base, was shot at an off-base residence. He was transported to a hospital in Kansas City, where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident occurred during a gathering where Bottom and his friends were drinking.
