In the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, August 9, 2015, the life of 32-year-old Brian Anthony Valley was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on a Hazelwood interstate. Valley was behind the wheel of his black Infiniti SUV, driving south on I-170 between I-270 and Airport Road, when another vehicle pulled alongside and unleashed a volley of bullets.
The male driver's side of the SUV was riddled with approximately seven to ten gunshots, fatally wounding Valley, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The brazen highway shooting also left a 31-year-old male passenger, who was in the backseat, with serious injuries from gunshot wounds to his arm and back; he was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. A third individual in the vehicle managed to escape the violent encounter unscathed. The Hazelwood Police Department promptly requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis to investigate the homicide.
In the wake of the deadly shooting, authorities have yet to publicly identify any suspects or make any arrests in connection with the murder of Brian Valley. The case remains an open investigation, with law enforcement appealing to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of those responsible for the fatal roadside ambush.
