On the night of September 27, 2015, authorities in Pagedale, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of Bradford Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene around 10:15 p.m., officers discovered the body of 22-year-old Fadil B. Hall lying in the street. The Black male victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel.
The investigation into the homicide was complicated by the victim's
legal status at the time of his death. Police revealed that Hall was actively being sought by law enforcement and had been placed on a 'most wanted' list prior to the shooting. He was facing charges including two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action, stemming from an alleged involvement in a double shooting that occurred in University City, Missouri, the previous month.
Detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit took over the case, exploring whether his death was a retaliatory act connected to the earlier violence or a separate incident.
