On May 27, 2016, emergency responders were dispatched to a residence in Joplin, Missouri, following reports of a shooting incident. Upon arrival, authorities discovered 55-year-old male Gary DeWayne Huston suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency personnel, Huston was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident took place at his home, where he had lived since moving from Oklahoma more than a decade prior.
