On July 17th, 22-year-old Kevin Villegas Melendez and his companion, 25-year-old Raymond Gonzalez-Ortiz, were brutally killed in what law enforcement described as an execution-style shooting. There was no indication that either Villegas Melendez or Gonzalez-Ortiz had a weapon or attempted to defend themselves, suggesting they were ambushed and given no chance to survive.
