On August 14, 2016, police in St. Louis, Missouri, responded to a call regarding a shooting in the northern part of the city. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 5000 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 39-year-old Michael Mason.
