Brent Shonta Johnson, a 30-year-old resident of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, tragically lost his life on September 28, 2016. According to reports, Brent was shot once in the chest while attempting to break up a fight between two other men in front of 1211 S. Ellis St. around 2 a.m. on that fateful Wednesday. His sister, Chelsea Johnson, described him as a hero who was trying to prevent further violence when he was fatally wounded.
