On November 13, 2017, the tragic deaths of 10-year-old Kaydee Moerer and her mother, 40-year-old Sara Spears, were discovered in their rural Pierce City, Missouri home. The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office received a call for a well-being check at the Spears residence to assist the Division of Family Services.
