In the early morning hours of September 17, 2016, a house party in Thornton, Colorado, turned tragic, ending the life of 16-year-old Haley Vargas. The female teenager was attending a gathering on the 13000 block of Monaco Way when a disturbance broke out. Amidst the chaos, as people were leaving, a gunman opened fire.
