Ziyaa S. Umarov, a 23-year-old father of two, tragically lost his life on January 12, 2018, in Saint Louis, Missouri. Umarov, who had moved to the United States from Russia nine years prior, was found shot to death inside a car in the Tower Grove South neighborhood. His girlfriend, Samantha Bates, discovered him bleeding and unresponsive in the vehicle. Despite efforts to save him, including CPR attempts by a passerby, Umarov succumbed to his injuries.
