Angela was found deceased in her home office that evening by her husband, who immediately contacted law enforcement to report the discovery. Authorities responding to the scene determined that she had been fatally shot in the neck. The investigation quickly turned inward toward the family, identifying Angela's son, Connor J.
Cox, as the primary suspect in her death. At the time of the incident, Connor was in his early twenties.
