The investigation into Roy's death quickly led authorities to a suspect. Within days, Jermaine Moss Jr.
was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. The subsequent investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from an earlier altercation that had occurred at a gas station. This dispute reportedly escalated and culminated in the deadly encounter at the Bodie Drive home. Prosecutors moved forward with legal action against Moss, formally charging him with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
