On the morning of April 19, 2018, police officers in Kansas City, Missouri, were dispatched to a residential neighborhood following reports of a person lying motionless on the ground. Around 4:30 a.m., first responders arrived at the area near 36th Street and Park Avenue, where they discovered the body of 39-year-old female Kiley M. Cubie on the sidewalk. Emergency personnel assessed the situation, but she was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
