In the summer of 2018, the life of a 30-year-old woman, Veronica Taylor, was tragically cut short in St. Louis, Missouri. On the early morning of July 29, 2018, she was found shot to death in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. At the time of her death, Veronica was a mother of five children and was also five months pregnant with her sixth child.
The investigation into her death led police to Lamont Parker.
Evidence presented during the legal proceedings showed that Parker and Taylor were engaged in an argument when he fatally shot her in the head. The motive behind the argument was not publicly detailed. Relatives described the shooting as an 'execution-style' killing.
In August 2021, a jury found Lamont Parker, then 41, guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with Veronica Taylor's death. Following the conviction, in October 2021, Parker was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
