In the summer of 2018, tragedy struck in Kansas City, Missouri, claiming the life of 54-year-old Tyrone Standifer. On the afternoon of Thursday, August 2nd, Standifer, a Black male, was fatally shot in an act of violence that left another man critically injured. The two men were discovered inside a vehicle at the intersection of 18th Street and Prospect Avenue, though the actual shooting had taken place a short distance away, near 22nd Street and Walrond Avenue.
