On September 7, 2018, the community of Lemay in St. Louis County, Missouri, was shaken by a violent tragedy involving 46-year-old female Connie Dewrock. Police officers from the South County Precinct were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Reed Avenue shortly before 2:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders discovered a harrowing sight.
Dewrock was found unresponsive on the front porch of the home, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Inside the residence, investigators located a second individual, identified as 48-year-old Troy Bradley. Like Dewrock, Bradley had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. Law enforcement officials recovered a firearm near the bodies and immediately secured the area to determine the sequence of events that led to the loss of two lives. The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons took charge of the investigation, examining physical evidence and speaking with potential witnesses to reconstruct the timeline of the afternoon.
Detectives determined that the shooting was a murder-suicide committed by Bradley. According to police reports, Bradley and Dewrock had been in a long-term domestic relationship for more than 20 years prior to the incident. The evidence indicated that Bradley shot Dewrock outside the home before turning the weapon on himself inside the house. Due to the death of the sole suspect, there were no arrests, trials, or criminal charges filed in connection with the case, and the investigation was concluded with the determination that Bradley was the perpetrator responsible for Dewrock's death.
