Death by Force

On September 25, 2018, William Kirkwood, a 60-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in St. Louis, Missouri. The incident occurred in the 5200 block of Emerson Avenue, where Kirkwood was confronted by 51-year-old David Allen Sproling, who suspected him of stealing tools from his property. Sproling attempted to detain Kirkwood at gunpoint to recover the tools. When Kirkwood tried to escape, Sproling fired multiple shots, resulting in Kirkwood's death.
