In the quiet community of Tunas, Missouri, Brandy Allen, a 41-year-old Caucasian woman, and her husband Joseph were tragically killed on September 30, 2018. The couple was at their home, celebrating their wedding anniversary, when they were confronted by individuals attempting to steal their vehicles. An exchange of gunfire ensued, leaving both Brandy and Joseph Allen dead outside their residence.
Their two school-aged children were not at home at the time of the incident.
The investigation into the double homicide quickly identified two main suspects: Billy Sage Medley and Jeffrey Dale Lee Stevenson. Authorities believe the couple was shot when they interrupted Medley and Stevenson in the act of stealing their truck. The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned in a wooded area. Stevenson was arrested on October 3, 2018, and charged with two counts of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, burglary, and stealing. Medley remained at large for a period before being apprehended.
In addition to the primary suspects, two other men, Kody B. Wilson and Cody O. Depriest, faced charges of corpse abandonment. It was reported that after the murders, Medley and Stevenson informed Wilson and Depriest about the deaths, and the two men visited the crime scene multiple times without alerting the authorities.

Billy Medley pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and seven other crimes, resulting in a 48-year prison sentence in September 2020.
