In the summer of 2019, a Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri, turned tragic for 33-year-old Shawndell L. Reed. On June 23rd, near the intersection of East 28th Street and Park Avenue, a dispute escalated into deadly violence. Witnesses later recounted to police that Reed had been involved in a physical altercation with another individual. The fight took a fatal turn when his assailant produced a firearm and shot him.
