Jalen Duree Stevens, a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on September 10, 2019, in Kansas City, Missouri. On that Tuesday afternoon, Stevens was a passenger in a black Ford Mustang being driven by 20-year-old Makih T. Briggs near 79th and Blue Ridge Boulevard. The tragic events began to unfold following an argument at a gas station.

After the dispute, a black 2002-2008 4-door Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, which was pulling a trailer with landscaping equipment, followed the Mustang. ...
