On the morning of September 21, 2019, law enforcement officials in St. Louis, Missouri, were alerted to a violent incident in the northern section of the city. At approximately 11:13 a.m., officers responded to a call reporting a shooting in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood. Upon arriving at the scene in the 5800 block of Highland Avenue, first responders discovered a 27-year-old male victim, identified as Benjamin Alvin Davis Jr., lying in an alleyway.
