In the summer of 2020, the life of a former professional boxer and beloved father was cut short by gunfire in the Saint-louis suburb of Wellston, Missouri. Kelly Wright, a 43-year-old Black male, was found shot multiple times on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 4, 2020. The fatal shooting occurred in the 1500 block of Ben McLemore III Place, where responding officers discovered his body.
