In the quiet community of Eastampton Township, New Jersey, a sequence of events unfolded on the evening of February 10, 2024, that ended in the tragic death of 26-year-old Christian Kurtz. A resident of nearby Willingboro, Kurtz was at the Eastampton Gardens apartment complex when he was struck by gunfire. In a desperate attempt to flee the scene and seek help, he got into his vehicle and drove a short distance before crashing into another car at the intersection of Hedding-Jacksonville Road
and Welsford Way.
First responders arriving at the scene of the car accident discovered that Kurtz was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Christian Kurtz succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that evening. The male victim’s death has since been ruled a homicide.
The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, along with the Eastampton Township Police Department, immediately launched an investigation into the shooting. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of the person or persons responsible for Kurtz's death. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting, and a suspect has not been publicly identified.
