On the night of November 6, 2019, violence erupted in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Around 11:00 p.m., the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department received a distress call reporting a shooting in the 5600 block of Highland Avenue. Responding officers rushed to the scene in North St. Louis, where they discovered the victim, identified as Darrius Delk.
Upon their arrival, authorities found the 27-year-old African American male suffering from multiple gunshot
wounds. Despite the immediate police response, he had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred late on a Wednesday night, prompting an immediate investigation by the department’s Homicide Division into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
At the time of the initial reports, law enforcement officials had not identified any specific suspects or made any arrests in connection with the killing.
