On May 4, 2020, William Rayford, a 32-year-old resident of Hazelwood, Missouri, was found shot to death inside a hotel room at the Extend-A-Stay Suites located on North Hanley Road. The Hazelwood Police Department responded to a shooting call at approximately 1:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Rayford's body with multiple gunshot wounds. The incident prompted an immediate investigation by the department's Criminal Investigation Team.
