On the morning of June 4, 2020, a gathering intended to mourn a lost life in St. Louis, Missouri, turned into another scene of tragedy when 20-year-old Darius Houston was fatally shot. Houston, an African American male from Hazelwood, had traveled to the Walnut Park East neighborhood of North St. Louis to attend a funeral service for a friend.
