On June 7, 2020, at approximately 12:19 a.m., officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 5100 block of Maple Avenue in the Academy/Sherman Park neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered two men inside a vehicle, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as 27-year-old Dorian Sims of St. Louis and 28-year-old Ronnell Hankins of Jennings. Tragically, both men were pronounced deceased at the scene.
