In the evening hours of Saturday, March 6, 2021, a minor traffic incident on a residential street in Kansas City, Missouri, quickly spiraled into a tragedy that would claim the life of 33-year-old Curtis Thompkins. Thompkins, a Black male, was involved in a fender bender that led to a heated altercation near the intersection of East 51st Street and Agnes Avenue. What began as a dispute over a minor car accident escalated with shocking suddenness into deadly violence.
