On March 25, 2021, a violent incident unfolded at the Welcome Inn motel located at 3550 East Evergreen Street in Springfield, Missouri. Just after midnight, at approximately 12:45 a.m., local law enforcement received a frantic 911 call reporting a shooting at the establishment near Interstate 44 and Highway 65.
