On March 29, 2021, the quiet routine of a Monday afternoon was shattered in the Mark Twain/I-70 Industrial neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Damon Hill, a 65-year-old male, was sitting inside a vehicle parked on the 5900 block of Dressell Avenue when he was targeted in a violent attack. Witnesses in the area observed a gunman open fire on Hill and another individual inside the car.
The shooter, who was later identified as a neighbor living on the same street, was captured on home surveillance footage crossing the road before raising a weapon and discharging multiple rounds. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene near Goodfellow Boulevard and Dressell Avenue, they discovered Hill suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators quickly zeroed in on a suspect, identified as Antoine Miller, who resided nearby. The surveillance video played a crucial role in the investigation, showing Miller firing at the victims before fleeing the area in an SUV.
