On April 25, 2021, Derontae Kashaun-Mylik Martin, a 19-year-old Black male, was found deceased at a rural residence near Fredericktown, Missouri. The former high school football star had been attending an 18th birthday party at the home of James Wade in Madison County. During the early morning hours, a gunshot was heard, and Martin’s body was subsequently discovered in the attic of the house.
