On a summer evening in Saint-Louis, Missouri, the life of James Newberry, a 29-year-old male, was cut short by gunfire. On July 1, 2021, police were called to the 2600 block of Caroline Street in The Gate District neighborhood. There, in the backyard of a residence, they discovered Newberry's body around 8:30 p.m. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
