In the early morning hours of November 28, 2021, officers from the Kansas City Police Department responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 4100 block of Montgall Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene just after 2:00 a.m., they discovered 32-year-old male Jamell Hornbeck lying unresponsive in the street. He was suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds and was immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.
