Michael Sinotte, a 22-year-old man from North Kingstown, Rhode Island, was last seen by his family on June 13, 2019. Michael, who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had recently stopped taking his medication, left his home early in the morning on June 14 without alerting his family. His vehicle, a black 2000 Honda Civic, was found three days later, locked and abandoned at the Great Swamp Management Area in South Kingstown.
Inside the car, fast food receipts and an uneaten hamburger were discovered, but his keys and cell phone were missing. His phone had been turned off, and no activity on his GrubHub delivery account was recorded that night, despite him telling a police officer he was working.
Search efforts, including a thorough investigation of the 3,500-acre Great Swamp area where his car was found, have yielded little information. Some items were found, such as a rope he had purchased shortly before his disappearance, but no significant leads emerged. Michael was an avid hiker and geocacher, often venturing into remote areas, but his family noted that his sudden disappearance was out of character. The case remains unsolved, and authorities are still seeking information to resolve his disappearance.
