John Ansay, age 31, went missing on January 1, 2019, after the fishing vessel *Mistress* he was aboard capsized off the coast of Block Island, Rhode Island. Ansay, along with his uncle, Oscar Diaz, was one of the two fishermen lost at sea. Despite extensive search efforts by the U.S. Coast Guard over a 40-hour period, covering more than 2,000 nautical miles, neither man was recovered. The incident is believed to have been caused by the vessel taking on water during rough weather conditions.
