Daniels said she never imagined Hogans would become another victim of Milwaukee gun violence. While reflecting on what might have happened, she wondered whether someone Hogans had allowed into his life or social circle may not have understood the kind of person he was. Her comments were an expression of personal grief and speculation rather than an investigative finding, and police did not publicly confirm that someone within Hogans' circle was responsible.
