Nancy Gale Erickson, age 21, vanished from Brattleboro, Vermont, on October 30, 1973. A nursing graduate of Corning Community College, she had worked at Tampa General Hospital in Florida before abruptly leaving in 1973 with only a duffel bag—her family later speculating the emotional burden of nursing work may have driven her departure.
