Lorraine Currier, aged 55, and her husband, William, went missing from their Essex, Vermont home on June 8, 2011. The couple was reported missing after failing to show up for work the following day. When investigators checked their residence, they found the doors locked, a broken window in the garage, and signs that the couple had not left voluntarily. Their car was discovered abandoned a short distance away, but both William and Lorraine remained missing.
The case took a dark turn when notorious serial killer Israel Keyes was arrested in 2012. Keyes later confessed to abducting and murdering the Curriers in a random act of violence. He broke into their home, subdued them, and drove them to an abandoned farmhouse, where he murdered both. Despite extensive searches, their bodies were never recovered. Keyes described the crime in chilling detail before taking his own life while awaiting trial for other murders.
The Curriers’ case remains a tragic example of random, senseless violence, with authorities confirming that the couple fought bravely until the end.
